LAHORE The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has welcomed the government\u2019s decision to cut electricity tariffs for industries by Rs4.04 per unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FPCCI leader SM Tanveer described the move as an excellent step that will significantly benefit the industrial sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tanveer highlighted that this decision is expected to boost the country\u2019s exports. \u201cThe prime minister has taken game-changing measures to increase export growth,\u201d he said. He also extended congratulations to Dr Gohar Ejaz, President of FPCCI, and the entire business community, stating that Pakistan\u2019s exports could reach $109 billion by 2030 due to these measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement was made today in the federal capital during an event honouring the country\u2019s prominent exporters and business figures. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif revealed the reduction in industrial electricity tariffs and emphasised the government\u2019s commitment to supporting exporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The prime minister remarked that if possible, he would reduce tariffs by a further Rs10, but noted that existing constraints limit immediate further cuts. In addition to the tariff reduction, he announced a cut in exporters\u2019 taxes from 7.5 percent to 4.5 percent, reinforcing incentives for the export sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tariff and tax reliefs are part of a broader government strategy to encourage industrial production and expand exports.
