{"id":806,"date":"2025-10-02T18:39:53","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T18:39:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailysadaepakistan.com\/English\/?p=806"},"modified":"2025-10-02T18:40:22","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T18:40:22","slug":"trade-deficit-widens-by-2-32bn-in-first-quarter-of-fiscal-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailysadaepakistan.com\/English\/?p=806","title":{"rendered":"Trade deficit widens by $2.32bn in first quarter of fiscal year"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Thursday that the country&#8217;s trade deficit has widened by $2.32 billion in the first quarter of the fiscal year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pakistan\u2019s trade deficit rose to $9.36 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (July\u2013September), to mark an increase of 33 per cent compared to $7 billion during the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exports fell by 3.83 per cent, reaching $7.6 billion, while imports rose by 14.39 per cent to $16.97 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In September 2025, exports stood at $2.5 billion, reflecting a 3.64 per cent increase from $2.41 billion in August 2025. However, compared with September 2024, exports dropped by 11.71 per cent, as the previous year\u2019s figure exceeded $2.83 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The monthly trade deficit reached $3.34 billion, indicating a 16.33 per cent increase compared to the previous month.
