Pakistan vows to ensure socio-economic development of Kashmiris
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed on Friday that Pakistan remains resolute in ensuring the socio-economic development of Kashmiris while upholding their right to peaceful protest.
According to details surfaced on Friday, the spokesperson said the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir enjoy full civil and political rights and take an active part in shaping their democratic future.
FO Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said that Pakistan stands committed to protecting the dignity and rights of its Kashmiri brothers. This resolve reflects both a constitutional responsibility and a long-standing moral obligation.
The FO termed the human rights violations in occupied Kashmir as evidence of India’s state terrorism. It added that changes in the population ratio and the denial of civil liberties have deepened the crisis.
The spokesperson asked India to respect the inalienable rights of the Kashmiri people in line with international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
A just solution to the Kashmir dispute remains the only path to lasting peace in South Asia, added the spokesperson.
