Dr. Azhar Hussain awarded the Agricultural Youth Award Researcher of the Year 2025

BAHAWALPUR : Dr. Azhar Hussain, a distinguished Soil and Environmental Microbiologist, at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has been awarded the Agricultural Youth Award Researcher of the Year 2025 by the National Agricultural Youth Commission, Islamabad. The award ceremony was held during the Pakistan Agro Show 2025, at the International Expo Centre. The award was presented by Prof. Dr. Nazim Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan and Ahmad Raza Khan Kirmani, Founder and Chairman of National Agricultural Youth Commission Pakistan. Dr. Adeem Arshad Awan Head Global Supply Chain Sapphire Group also present. Dr. Hussain is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Soil Science at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan.

He was recognised for his outstanding contribution in the field of teaching and research in soil science, with a focus on advancing sustainable agricultural practices and soil health management. Speaking on this achievement, Dr. Azhar Hussain expressed gratitude to his institute, mentors, colleagues, students, and family for their support, and emphasised his commitment to continue contributing toward agricultural development and soil sustainability in Pakistan. This recognition highlights the vital role of young researchers in addressing the country’s agricultural challenges and promoting innovation for food security.
