As diesel prices rise by Rs11.30 per litre, Pakistan announces updated petroleum prices.

ISLAMABAD — The federal government has released updated petroleum product prices, raising the price of high-speed diesel while maintaining the same price for gasoline.

The official announcement states that the cost of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs. 11.30 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs268.38 per litre as a result of the hike.

In contrast, the price of petrol has been kept at Rs253.17 per litre, offering customers short-term respite from both domestic economic pressures and shifting global oil costs.

According to the official notification announcing the updated petroleum prices, the new rates will take effect on February 1 and will be in force for the following 15 days.

Fuel prices in Pakistan are reviewed on a fortnightly basis, taking into account changes in global oil markets, exchange rate movements, and applicable taxes and levies. Petroleum products, particularly high-speed diesel, play a critical role in transport, agriculture, and industrial sectors, making price adjustments a closely watched development.
