Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir to visit Quetta today
QUETTA – Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will pay a one-day official visit to Quetta today. The purpose of the visit is to review the overall security situation in Balochistan and hold talks with the provincial leadership and tribal representatives.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by several federal ministers, while Balochistan Governor Javed Khan Mandokhel, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, members of the provincial cabinet and members of the national and provincial assemblies will also attend important meetings.
An important part of the visit will be a high-level tribal jirga where the country’s top civil and military leadership will meet influential tribal chiefs and political figures from different parts of the province. The meeting will discuss security challenges as well as socio-economic issues of the province.
The visit reflects the government’s commitment to strengthen ties with the local community, promote inclusive governance and ensure peace and stability with the cooperation of the federal, provincial and traditional leadership.
