PDMA Punjab issues flood alert at Ganda Singh Wala on River Sutlej
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a flood alert for Ganda Singh Wala on the River Sutlej.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, moderate flooding is expected within the next two days, a PDMA spokesperson said. The current situation showed a low flood level at Ganda Singh Wala, according to the Director General (DG) PDMA. The water flow in the River Sutlej and River Ravi depends on releases from Indian reservoirs.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia has instructed commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province to remain alert. The district administration has also received an alert.
Rains were likely to increase the flow of rivers and streams in Punjab, DG Irfan Ali Kathia added.
