Punjab decides to appoint Rao Abdul Karim as new IGP

LAHORE – The Punjab government has decided to post Additional IG Rao Abdul Karim as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab.

According to sources, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the appointment. Earlier, CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana and Additional IG Counter Terrorism Department Waseem Sial were also among the contenders for the post.

Meanwhile, it is expected that outgoing Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar will receive his next posting at the federal level.
