Funeral prayers held for Major Adnan Aslam in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI : Funeral prayers held for Major Adnan Aslam in Rawalpindi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Atta Tarar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir, senior military and civil officers and members of the martyr’s family attended the ceremony.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major Adnan sustained critical injuries on September 2 during a cowardly attack by the Khawarij in Bannu. He was under treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalpindi, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Major Adnan Aslam demonstrated exceptional courage and fulfilled his role as a leader in the face of the enemy. He will be laid to rest with full military honours in his native area.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Major Adnan’s bravery and sacrifice, saying that the nation has lost a courageous son. He said the martyr’s sacrifice would always remain in the hearts of the people. He described Major Adnan as a reflection of the finest traditions, whose love for the homeland, unshakable resolve and spirit of sacrifice were a testament to the armed forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism.
