Apple has unveiled the new iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and a thinner iPhone Air.
With a fresh design, upgraded cameras, and the new A19 Pro chip, Apple’s flagship raises an important question for users: should you keep the iPhone 16 or upgrade to the iPhone 17?
Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max bring a bold redesign. The new aluminum unibody replaces last year’s titanium frame, paired with Ceramic Shield 2 on the front for tougher scratch resistance. A standout feature is the “plateau” camera bar, a full-width rear housing that sets it apart from previous models.
The iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099, while the Pro Max begins at $1,199. Both now start with 256GB of storage, with the Pro Max also offering a massive 2TB option. Pre-orders open on September 12, with availability from September 19.
The biggest leap comes in photography. Apple has upgraded the telephoto camera from a 12MP to a 48MP sensor, delivering up to 8x optical zoom – among the highest in the industry. For selfies, the front camera jumps from 12MP to 18MP, and now supports simultaneous recording with both front and rear lenses.
