Unlicensed hair transplant clinic shut down in Dubai apartment

Dubai Police, in coordination with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), have arrested a man for practising medicine without a licence after he carried out hair transplant procedures in his apartment.

The suspect promoted the unlicensed services through videos on a dedicated social media account, putting the health of clients at risk. The arrest followed a detailed investigation by the Anti-Economic Crimes Department and the DHA.

Police found that the suspect had converted one room of his three-bedroom apartment into a makeshift clinic. The other two rooms were used for family living. Inside the improvised medical space, officers discovered surgical instruments, medical devices, anaesthetics, disinfectants and chemicals used for hair transplants, none of which met health and safety standards.

Residents were urged to seek medical and cosmetic services only from licensed clinics and to confirm the credentials of healthcare providers. Police also encouraged the public to report any illegal or suspicious medical practices through official channels.
