Pak vs SA See who’s in, who’s out. Will Babar Azam return?

Following Pakistan’s underwhelming performance in the Asia Cup, consultations have begun between the national selectors, head coach, and team captain to finalize the squad for the upcoming white-ball series against South Africa.

The series will include three T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals following the Test matches.

According to sources, the selection committee, along with the coach and captain, convened in Lahore to review player performances and strategize for the next phase of Pakistan’s cricket calendar.

The discussions focused on both the T20 and ODI squads, with selectors emphasizing the need to strengthen the team’s balance and address recent shortcomings exposed during the Asia Cup.

In a major development, former captain Babar Azam is reportedly considering a return to the T20 format, sources said.

While his comeback has been met with interest, some members of the selection committee have expressed reservations about bringing Babar back into the T20 squad so soon. The discussions remain ongoing, with no final decision made yet.

Insiders revealed that three to four changes are likely in Pakistan’s T20 lineup for the South Africa series. These adjustments are expected to reflect both form-based decisions and long-term strategic planning.

The selectors are keen to ensure the team fields a blend of experienced players and emerging talent capable of performing consistently in home conditions.
